Fortinet and Saasyan Help Two Australian Schools Enhance Their Security and Cyber Welfare Capabilities

Fortinet and Saasyan worked with St Aidan’s and St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ Schools, two sister K–12 institutions near Brisbane, to address a growing duty of care challenge: protecting student welfare online (including boarders outside school hours), preventing access to inappropriate content, and providing granular, timely reporting despite a small IT team. The schools needed a flexible, K–12–specific solution that automated monitoring and empowered non‑technical staff to act quickly.

The schools integrated Fortinet FortiGate Next‑Generation Firewalls with Saasyan’s Assure platform (via the Fabric‑Ready program) to deliver cloud‑based, real‑time monitoring, grade‑level content controls, automated alerts, and self‑service reporting. The result was reduced IT workload, faster identification and intervention for bullying or self‑harm risks, better promotion of digital citizenship, and practical use during crises like COVID‑19 and floods — enabling staff to act before welfare incidents escalate.
