FortiGate Helps Salt Lake County Tackle Unanticipated Challenges

Salt Lake County, Utah — a government network supporting up to 5,000 users across two large campuses, numerous service centers and partner connections — needed to replace aging security appliances with higher-performance, feature-rich systems that kept total cost of ownership low and were easy for a small security team to manage. Their priorities included scalability, web filtering, application control and PCI-compliant protection for financial centers.

Salt Lake County deployed FortiGate appliances (six FortiGate-620Bs in three active-active clusters, four FortiGate-310Bs in two clusters, plus multiple FortiGate-80Cs) to provide UTM, app control, web filtering and SSL/VPN services.
