Dutch Maritime Systems Integrator Fortifies Operations With New Integrated Security Architecture

RH Marine, a long-established Dutch systems integrator for naval and yachting customers, faced strict maritime cybersecurity and compliance demands (including IMO mandates and insurer requirements) while needing to connect operational technology (OT) with IT across nine sites and two data centers. The company needed a secure, high-performance architecture that removed reliance on “air gaps” without degrading application or OT performance.

RH Marine deployed the Fortinet Security Fabric — centered on FortiGate NGFWs and complemented by FortiAP, FortiClient, FortiNAC, FortiToken, FortiSandbox and the Fabric Management Center (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM), plus FortiAuthenticator for expanded authentication — to unify NOC and SOC functions, automate response, and extend visibility and control. The new architecture improved security, performance, and reliability, enabled IT/OT integration, streamlined operations, and reduced incident-response time while actually increasing application performance despite added protections.
