Creating The Perfect Environment To Learn Safely, Securely And Without Interruption

Trenton Public Schools, a New Jersey district serving about 11,500 students across 25 buildings, faced a network capacity and security challenge as statewide PARCC electronic testing and increasing internet use outstripped its legacy infrastructure. The district needed higher WAN speed and bandwidth to support nearly 12,000 endpoints, better visibility into traffic, protection from growing cyber threats, and a replacement for an aging VoIP phone system.

Working with Advanced Computer Solutions Group, Trenton deployed Fortinet solutions: FortiGate next‑generation firewalls in a high‑availability pair to support a 10 Gbps internet feed, a FortiDDoS appliance for proactive attack protection, and FortiVoice for 500 phone extensions. The rollout consolidated systems, simplified audits, eliminated single points of failure, delivered state‑of‑the‑art DDoS and web protection, improved uptime and visibility, and cut phone costs by about 60%.
