City of Prospect - Customer Case Study

City of Prospect, an urban community north of Adelaide, wanted to attract shoppers, workers, students, and digital visitors with free public Wi-Fi, but needed a network that was fast, secure, and reliable enough to support economic growth and public events. To prove the concept, the city worked with Fortinet and partner Vintek, using a trial installation before rolling out the full service.

Fortinet’s solution included FortiGate, FortiAP/FortiWiFi, FortiCache, FortiPresence, and FortiGuard security services, all deployed and managed by Vintek. The result was a successful launch of “Prospect Super Fast Wi‑Fi” with no issues at the 15,000-person Tourrific event, overwhelmingly positive feedback, and continued growth in usage, retail, and hospitality, while keeping management overhead low.
