Chilean Fishing Company Integrates Network and Security Infrastructure for Remote Locations with the Fortinet Security Fabric

Camanchaca is one of Chile’s largest fisheries, with about 3,600 employees, 18 offices and plants spread across the country (some up to 3,000 km apart), and operations in fishing, aquaculture and logistics. The company faced connectivity, visibility and compliance challenges from a legacy, centrally routed MPLS network and costly, unreliable satellite links, plus limited on-site security controls—prompting a digital transformation to modernize and secure distributed sites.

Working with Fortinet and partner Order Tech, Camanchaca deployed the Fortinet Security Fabric—FortiGate NGFWs with Secure SD-WAN, FortiSwitch, FortiEDR, FortiClient, FortiAnalyzer and FortiCare—to decentralize and secure its network across 18 locations. The integrated solution improved WAN availability and lower-cost satellite connectivity, centralized visibility and management, supported OT and multi‑cloud projects, and helped reduce cyber incidents by 93% while enabling prioritized, resilient traffic and easier operations.
