Cement Producer Improves Security With Modern Endpoint Protection Solutions

MIZU, the cement division of Polimix Corporation in Brazil, produces 7 million tons of cement annually and serves as the group’s IT center. Facing repeated zero‑day and ransomware threats that could disrupt industrial operations, the lean IT team found its initial EDR vendor lacking automation and overwhelmed by false positives, so the company sought a more integrated, efficient endpoint protection solution.

Working with partner Brasiline, MIZU deployed FortiEDR along with FortiClient and other Fortinet Security Fabric components, using AI‑driven automation to block, diagnose and remediate threats automatically. The new solution improved detection and response, drastically reduced false positives and lost time, enabled secure remote work during COVID‑19, integrated IT and OT networks, and now protects more than 2,000 users with plans to expand across the corporation.
