Cedenco Foods Selects Fortinet Access Points for Major Expansion

Cedenco Foods, a Gisborne-based food processor expanding with a new NZ$6 million, 3,000 m² facility, needed wider, reliable and affordable Wi‑Fi to extend barcode scanning across both factories — including a -18°C cold room — and to leverage an existing FortiGate 110C. The challenge was to provide robust industrial coverage that reduced manual tracing, supported increased throughput and remained low-maintenance.

Fujitsu recommended standardising on Fortinet FortiAP 222B access points managed by the FortiGate wireless controller; a site survey identified optimal pole-mounted, PoE, dual-band AP locations and used outdoor-rated units (-25°C). Cedenco’s team installed the kit with Fujitsu configuration and support, delivering fast, trouble-free coverage across both sites (including cold storage), enabling reliable wireless scanning, faster processing and a scalable platform for further growth.
