Brazilian Steel Distributor Achieves High Security and Availability with the Fortinet Security Fabric Platform

Manetoni, a São Paulo–based steel distributor founded in 1982 with eight regional offices and 10 secure SD‑WAN locations, faced growing cybersecurity risks after a high‑profile regional attack and needed secure remote access for employees during COVID-19. The company also lacked network visibility and control across multiple sites and wanted to reduce reliance on costly MPLS links.

Partnering with Fortinet and Safetyware, Manetoni deployed the Fortinet Security Fabric—FortiGate NGFWs with Secure SD‑WAN plus FortiNAC, FortiAnalyzer, FortiWeb, FortiClient EMS and FortiToken—centralizing management, replacing MPLS with redundant ADSL links, enforcing access control, protecting endpoints and applications, and using FortiGuard threat intelligence. The rollout delivered full visibility and automation, lower connectivity costs, high availability across 10 sites, secure remote work, faster incident response, and a foundation for future zero‑trust access.
