Brazilian Gas Station Chain Powers Its Cloud-Based Network Infrastructure Expansion with Fortinet

SIM Rede de Postos is Brazil’s largest gas station and convenience store network, with 181 branches across 72+ cities and part of the Empresas SIM group. Rapid growth and multiple headquarters increased operational complexity and exposed gaps in visibility and security, prompting the company to move key applications to Google Cloud Platform and seek a more robust, centralized information‑security approach.

Working with partner Integrasul, SIM deployed Fortinet solutions—including FortiGate VM in GCP, Fortinet Secure SD‑WAN linking 204 sites, on‑prem FortiGate NGFWs, FortiAPs, FortiSwitch, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer, FortiNAC, and FortiCare support—to centralize control and harden defenses. The rollout reduced complexity, improved threat detection and visibility, increased redundancy and reliability (keeping card payments and Wi‑Fi online), boosted app downloads to 700,000 users, and markedly improved equipment management and operational efficiency.
