Brazilian Cooperative in Agribusiness, Livestock, and Retail Modernizes Its Network Infrastructure With Fortinet LAN Edge and Secure SD-WAN

Cotripal Agropecuária Cooperativa (Cotripal), a major agribusiness and retail cooperative in Brazil with 45 locations and more than 2,540 employees, faced a strained legacy network as rapid growth and frequent branch openings outpaced its infrastructure. Manual deployments, limited centralized management, intermittent store connectivity and slow customer Wi‑Fi threatened transactions and day‑to‑day operations, prompting a need for a secure, scalable networking solution.

With partner Integrasul, Cotripal implemented Fortinet’s Security Fabric—FortiGate NGFWs, Secure SD‑WAN, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiToken—enabling centralized management, automated failover, encrypted VPNs with MFA and traffic prioritization. The modernization delivered stable, secure connectivity across 45 sites, visibility into nearly 3,000 devices, faster customer Wi‑Fi, simplified branch onboarding and reliable transaction processing (about 16,000 transactions per minute).
