Case Study: Kennards Hire achieves a secure, centrally managed national network and improved uptime with Fortinet

A Fortinet Case Study

Preview of the Kennards Hire Case Study

Australian Equipment Rental Company Relies on Fortinet’s UTM Solution for Highly Connected and Secure Network

Kennards Hire, a family-owned equipment rental leader with 150 sites across Australia and New Zealand, faced an aging, inconsistent telephony and WAN environment. Branches relied on PABX systems with ISDN on-ramps that were costly to maintain, hard to change or relocate, and suffered slow failover (hours) during outages—putting customer contact and business at risk.

Working with systems integrator EDV, Kennards replaced ISDN with a centralized Mitel VoIP contact‑centre on Telstra SIP and deployed Fortinet’s Connect and Secure stack (FortiGate-94D-POE, FortiAP-223B, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer), MPLS with dedicated voice links and 4G backup. The result was a centrally managed, secure network with consistent Wi‑Fi and VoIP at all sites, near-100% uptime, lower TCO, faster redundancy failover and improved advanced threat protection.
