A Fortinet Case Study
Cooperalfa (Alfa Agroindustrial Cooperative) is a Brazil-based agribusiness cooperative founded in 1967 that serves 20,700 associated families with 3,400 employees and roughly 5 billion reais in 2020 sales. As the cooperative expanded, its legacy firewall could not meet performance or security needs, leaving limited visibility into network access, slow incident diagnosis, and difficulty managing policies across its sites.
With help from partners Sercompe and Inova, Cooperalfa deployed two FortiGate next‑generation firewalls enabled for FortiGate Secure SD‑WAN and centralized management via FortiAnalyzer across its two data centers. The solution delivered centralized visibility and reporting, streamlined policy management, improved application performance and WAN load distribution across four links, faster threat blocking — and cut time spent managing security by 80%, with plans to extend Secure SD‑WAN to 152 affiliates.
