Case Study: Abu Dhabi City Municipality achieves 72% OPEX reduction and stronger network security with Fortinet

A Fortinet Case Study

Preview of the Abu Dhabi City Case Study

Abu Dhabi City Municipality Relies on Fortinet to Secure Critical Data and Networks

Fortinet helped the Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) secure critical networks and data spanning its headquarters and 45 branch locations after ADM faced fragmented, siloed security, growing IoT and ransomware threats, and exposure of sensitive records (including PII, property and infrastructure data). ADM sought a single-platform, zero-trust approach with end-to-end visibility, internal segmentation, and strong detection, prevention and response capabilities.

ADM deployed the Fortinet Security Fabric—including FortiGate next‑generation firewalls, FortiSandbox and FortiAnalyzer—with single‑pane‑of‑glass management, FortiCare support and staff training. The rollout improved per-user visibility and threat prevention, cut annual OPEX by more than 72%, reduced MPLS costs from 3.5M to under 1M dirhams, increased network capacity fourfold, lowered latency, and reduced required security administration resources.
