Brazilian Attorney General’s Office Guarantees Remote Access Security to 14,000 Employees with FortiSASE

Advocacia‑Geral da União (AGU) is the Brazilian government’s legal arm, supporting roughly 14,000 employees across 149 units and handling extremely sensitive case data. Faced with a centralized MPLS network that was costly, hard to scale, and reliant on VPNs that exposed vulnerabilities, AGU needed a modern, secure, and cost‑effective network architecture that met federal cybersecurity standards.

AGU replaced its legacy WAN with Fortinet solutions—deploying FortiGate NGFWs and Secure SD‑WAN at 149 sites with dual internet links and implementing FortiSASE (ZTNA, SWG, DLP) alongside FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer and FortiMonitor—supported by FortiCare. The upgrade doubled to tripled bandwidth, sped access, eliminated many connection issues, protected 14,000 remote users and sensitive data, improved regulatory evaluations, and cut network infrastructure costs by about R$1.5 million per year.
