Fortinet Brings Security, Efficiency, Performance, and Stability to a Global Manufacturer’s Network

Alleima, a Sweden-based manufacturer of advanced metal components with 52 global sites and roughly 100,000 endpoints, needed to rebuild its network after a divestiture from Sandvik. Facing fragmented systems, strict compliance requirements, a small security team of four, and the need to tightly segment OT and office environments while enabling remote support, the company sought a single “pane of glass” solution to simplify management and improve visibility.

Alleima deployed Fortinet Secure SD-Branch — including FortiGate NGFWs and Secure SD-WAN, FortiSwitch and FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, endpoint/authentication tools, and FortiGuard services — to centralize security and operations. The result: security event response dropped from weeks to about 30 minutes, site rollouts shrank from 24 to six hours, port changes happen the same day instead of 5–7 business days, user support is ~90% faster, and network performance, stability, and segmentation greatly improved without adding staff.
