Case Study: Tegria achieves improved performance, reliability, and cost savings for EHR hosting with Fortinet

A Fortinet Case Study

Preview of the Tegria Case Study

Electronic Health Records Hosting Provider Uses Fortinet to Boost Performance and Reliability While Cutting Costs

Tegria is a cloud hosting provider that runs MEDITECH electronic health records for regional hospitals and needed a way to deliver secure, highly available EHR access without forcing customers to manage infrastructure. The company faced challenges around customer isolation, firmware coordination, disaster recovery, latency-sensitive performance, and the need to reduce operational complexity and cost across three U.S. data centers.

Tegria rearchitected to per-customer FortiGate virtual NGFWs (HA pairs) and deployed Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, FortiGuard UTP services, and related Fortinet tools, managed from a single interface. The change gave each hospital a private cloud environment with faster failover and circuit balancing, improved visibility and threat detection, simpler management and rollbacks, easier onboarding, better disaster recovery, and lower total cost of ownership by scaling with VMs.
