Markey Cancer Center Earns NCI Designation with Help of OnCore

Markey Cancer Center, part of the University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare, needed to earn National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation while managing more than 200 clinical trials and a large volume of research data. To support that effort, the center turned to Forte’s OnCore Enterprise Research system to centralize clinical trial management and prepare the detailed reports required for review.

With Forte’s OnCore system in place, Markey was able to quickly generate NCI submission tables, including Summary 4 clinical research studies data, and present a well-organized clinical trial management process to reviewers. The system helped the center earn a favorable site review and, in 2013, Markey became the 68th NCI-designated cancer center in the country, positioning it for up to $1.5 million in additional annual funding and broader research opportunities.
