CWRU Uses EVAL to Streamline Workflows for Showing Research ROI

Case Western Reserve University’s Case Comprehensive Cancer Center needed a better way to manage the complex, decentralized data required for NCI Designation and CCSG renewal. The administrative team was overwhelmed by time-consuming reporting requests, struggled to track grants, publications, investigators, and pilots, and found it difficult to demonstrate research return on investment across the university and its partner institutions. Forte helped address these challenges with its Research Evaluation System (EVAL).

By implementing Forte’s EVAL, Case Western Reserve University streamlined workflows, improved confidence in data accuracy, and made it easier to generate CCSG reports and publication data. The system also enabled the team to analyze pilot program outcomes and collaboration requirements more effectively, showing that pilot projects led to multiple publications and additional grants. One measurable impact was reducing the staff time spent preparing publication data from 75% of one employee’s time to just 10%, a result the university said justified the investment in Forte’s EVAL.
