Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund launches a multi-million dollar visitor experience with formula D_

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund required an engaging and interactive visitor exhibition for their new Ellen DeGeneres Campus, a multi-million dollar conservation hub in Rwanda. They engaged experience design agency formula D_ to create this large-scale exhibition for their visitor center, the Cindy Broder Conservation Gallery, which needed to educate tourists about gorilla research, conservation, and Dian Fossey's history.

formula D_ designed, engineered, and installed multilingual graphics, custom-made physical interactive objects, and various audiovisual systems. This included an immersive projection inside a recreation of Dian Fossey's research cabin and interactive elements like a gorilla-movement map. The solution successfully created a unique and cutting-edge visitor education experience that allows guests to step into the shoes of both the gorillas and the scientists, celebrating their connection and the enduring legacy of conservation.
