Land O'Frost, a major deli meat and hot dog producer, faced challenges with the repetitive and straining manual process of palletizing boxes. Labor scarcity, high turnover, and the difficulty of training staff on numerous pallet patterns for different SKUs drove their need to automate. They partnered with Formic Technologies to implement a robotic palletizing solution.

Formic designed, deployed, and maintains five gantry-style robotic palletizers for Land O'Frost. The solution, which included training existing line workers to become robot operators, enabled faster palletizing, simplified changeovers, and facilitated labor reallocation. As a result, Land O'Frost saves 20% on labor-related operational expenses daily and has significantly reduced downtime. The partnership with Formic has allowed the company to enhance production and improve working conditions.
