Case Study: Georgia Nut boosts palletizing efficiency with Formic Technologies

A Formic Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Georgia Nut Company Case Study

Georgia Nut and Formic Deploy First Robot in Company's History

Georgia Nut Company, a family-owned food producer with no prior automation experience, was struggling to keep up with production due to a severe labor shortage and high order volume, leaving them short staffed by 15–20 people per shift. To help them get started, Formic Technologies provided a robotics-as-a-service palletizing solution for multiple production lines.

Formic Technologies implemented a Yaskawa Motoman HC20 collaborative robot with a custom end-of-arm tool, operator interface, safety scanners, and mobile stand wheels so it could move between lines in under 30 minutes. The system now palletizes up to 10 cases per minute, has helped Georgia Nut reduce end-of-line labor by one person and avoid line shutdowns, and gives the team remote visibility into production through Formic’s dashboard.
