Ashland Memorial Medical Center and Hayward Area Memorial Hospital, two rural hospitals in northwestern Wisconsin operated by Regional Enterprises, faced slow, error-prone admission workflows and patient-safety risks from illegible, manual “blue card” processes tied to a legacy HIS. They needed immediate, accurate patient identification (wristbands and charts), better integration of pharmacy/lab/materials data, reduced printing and storage costs, and more reliable remote support.

The hospitals implemented Affinity’s Quadramed together with FormFast, upgraded to laser printers, and began printing barcoded, pre-populated forms on demand. The integrated solution produced cleaner, legible forms, sped admissions, enabled electronic archiving, and reclaimed storage space. Early results include faster data retrieval, reduced accounts receivable to about 30 days, thousands in medication-charge savings, and a seamless improvement in patient-safety and staff efficiency.
