Bristol Hospital, a 134‑bed community hospital in Connecticut that cares for more than 40,000 patients annually and earned national recognition for safety, faced a need during its 2011 MEDITECH 6.x implementation to replace paper consent workflows with an integrated electronic signature solution that would interoperate seamlessly with its EMR. The goal was to streamline patient signing across outpatient and inpatient areas while supporting the hospital’s broader digitization and EMR adoption objectives.
