John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, an 800-bed anchor of a five-hospital network in Southern Georgia and Northern Florida, faced a planned 18–24 hour host-system outage for a major upgrade. Because the hospitals rely on a shared Siemens information system with bedside charting, PACS and medication administration checking, prolonged downtime threatened patient identification, accurate census tracking and timely delivery of care across 75 registration points.
