UC Merced needed a better way to manage student appointment requests at its Student First Center, where limited space, a staff of three, and high demand created bottlenecks for Registrar, Financial Aid, and Admissions requests. The university also wanted to reduce the amount of technical support other departments needed for basic day-to-day operations, while still giving staff access to accurate data in real time.
With FormAssembly, UC Merced built a Salesforce-integrated appointment request process with a Department Configuration object that lets campus employees update form details on their own. The system supports branded forms, flexible scheduling, and department-controlled access, helping students book appointments up to a month in advance and enabling 12 departments to manage active forms without needing hundreds of additional Salesforce licenses.
