Allbirds, the global sustainable footwear and apparel company, needed a way to support a distributed workforce across retail, remote, hybrid, and onsite roles with benefits that could reach employees in the US and internationally. The company also wanted to stay competitive in a tough talent market by offering flexible, modern benefits beyond its already generous core package. Allbirds turned to Forma and its benefits spending account platform to help meet those needs.

With Forma, Allbirds launched customized wallets for wellness, communications, and charitable giving, plus additional ancillary accounts for specific employee groups. Employees used the platform for reimbursements and purchases such as gym memberships, phone and wifi costs, and donations, while HR benefited from an easy-to-administer, global, and highly customizable solution. The program delivered strong results, including more than 72% engagement and a 97% CSAT rating in 2021, while saving the operations team significant time and reducing employee inquiries.
