Stemcell Technologies Canada Inc. required support for their industrial design efforts to innovate and overcome stringent manufacturing constraints for their flagship CellPore device, which houses proprietary Cell Squeeze® technology. The challenge was to create a high-quality, safe, and serviceable product that could be easily operated in a lab setting while accurately meeting cost targets. Form3 provided industrial and mechanical design services to address this.

Form3's solution focused on form, ergonomics, and user experience, resulting in a device easily operated within a biosafety cabinet with features to enhance technician safety and cleanability. The design included a safety shield, a discretely housed gas cylinder, a maintenance hatch, and a custom HD touchscreen. The efforts of Form3 successfully met Stemcell Technologies' manufacturing and business goals, contributing to a long-term relationship and the celebrated success of the new CellPore device.
