International Rectifier, a global leader in power management with 35 offices in 20 countries and roughly 8,000–8,500 endpoints, needed to stop visitors, contractors and personal devices from connecting to its corporate network and ensure only company-owned machines had access. The security team required an easy-to-deploy, low-disruption network access control solution that could identify guest devices, enforce access policies and improve endpoint compliance across the enterprise.

After evaluating vendors, International Rectifier deployed ForeScout CounterACT because it required minimal network changes, was simple to administer, and provided fast time-to-value (installed in under three weeks). CounterACT delivered full, real-time visibility into devices, pinpointed switch/port connections, detected out-of-date antivirus and missing patches, and dynamically segmented unauthorized devices to an Internet-only VLAN—resulting in stronger access control, improved endpoint compliance and expanded coverage across the company’s manufacturing and corporate networks.
