A Fortune 500 Company in the defense and space sector needed to improve threat detection across its building automation and industrial control systems in manufacturing plants worldwide. The company wanted to evolve its existing IT security operations into a converged IT/OT SOC, and turned to ForeScout, using SilentDefense, to help monitor OT environments and detect attacks or abnormal behavior.

ForeScout implemented SilentDefense sensors and event-collection probes, performed a detailed asset analysis, and set up automated workflows to route critical alerts to the SIEM while keeping OT-specific alarms in the SilentDefense Command Center. The result was reduced workload, full OT security integration, a converged IT/OT solution for the industrial network and SOC, and a reusable reference model for rolling out similar security across the organization.
