ACCIONA Manages and Controls the Users Connecting to Its Wireless Network with ForeScout

ACCIONA, a global leader in infrastructure, renewable energy, water and services with operations in 30 countries and over 33,000 employees, needed tighter control over who and what was connecting to its corporate Wi‑Fi. The IT security team sought a solution to identify users and devices, assess their security posture, and enforce compliance with corporate policies without disrupting users or complex agent-based setups.

After a successful proof of concept, ACCIONA deployed ForeScout CounterACT with help from partners Secura and INGECOM, rolling it out from February 2014 across ten buildings and about 3,500 wireless devices. The agentless, non‑802.1X solution provided real‑time visibility, automated remediation, captive‑portal guest management and Palo Alto integration for identity, resulting in network access control at 80% of sites, identification of 70% of devices, and 50% policy compliance—expected to reach 100% soon.
