Williams Communications, a worldwide fiber-optic network communications company, needed a state-of-the-art monitoring and presentation facility as part of its move to the Transco Tower. Ford AV was selected to design and install a system that could display the operational status of Williams’ 33,000-mile fiber-optic network and support customer presentations.

Ford AV implemented a solution featuring nine high-output LCD graphics projectors, 37-inch data monitors, audible alarms, a 56 x 56 computer routing switcher, multiple videoconferencing rooms, and a computer automated control system. The result was a facility-wide network monitoring and customer tour environment that improved visibility into network status and enabled Williams to showcase its operations to customers nationwide; no specific quantitative performance metrics were provided.
