A Ford AV Case Study
Cessna Aircraft Corporation needed a flexible new training facility at a community college in Independence, Kansas, that could support presentations, video conferences, and future distance learning needs. Ford AV (listed in the case study as Ford Audio-Video) worked with Southwestern Bell Telephone to provide the audio-visual design and installation for the space.
Ford AV implemented a custom multimedia console that centralized all key media sources, including a visual presenter, VCR, slide-to-video converter, user computer, and remote control panel, along with video conferencing cameras, a projector lift, electric screen, satellite TV system, and distance learning capability. The result was a highly integrated training and conferencing room that Cessna could also use to connect with its headquarters in Wichita, and the facility was later planned for donation to the community college for use in the Kansas OneNet Distance Learning System.
