Gaffey Home Nursing & Hospice, Northern Illinois’ premier home care and hospice agency, faced growing back-office strain in 2014 from manual paper processes, slow turnaround on MD orders, rising supply and FTE costs, and insecure clinician messaging—threatening cash flow, compliance, and growth. To address these challenges the agency selected Forcura and its integrated document management and secure messaging platform (including ScanCapture and intake/tracking modules).
Forcura implemented a centralized, HIPAA-compliant workflow that eliminated printing and manual faxing, enabled mobile ScanCapture uploads into each patient’s virtual chart, and provided secure Messenger and dashboard reporting for intake, orders tracking, and pre‑claim review. As a result Gaffey became 100% paperless, reduced administrative and FTE expenses (about $315 saved per episode), achieved a 63% improvement in accounts receivable, sped billing turnaround, improved survey outcomes, and ensured secure clinical communication.
