A Forcepoint Case Study
VR Group, a Finnish railway transportation company, faced challenges providing reliable, high-speed internet connectivity on its trains moving at over 200 km/h. Their aging network infrastructure led to dropped connections and required expensive, on-site maintenance. To address this, VR Group adopted Forcepoint's Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) to build a new, secure network architecture.
Forcepoint implemented a solution featuring zero-touch cloud deployment and centralized management, allowing for remote configuration of the firewalls on each train. This approach provided secure, high-speed connectivity of 200 megabytes per second, reduced overhead costs by eliminating the need for physical maintenance, and improved reliability through load balancing across three mobile operators. The implementation also enabled improved real-time data collection for more accurate customer scheduling.
