US Government Open Source Center - Customer Case Study

The U.S. Government’s Open Source Center (OSC) is the nation’s premier provider of foreign open‑source intelligence, collecting content from more than 160 countries in over 80 languages across newspapers, broadcast, social media and commercial providers. OSC faced the challenge of extracting actionable insight from vast, disparate data stores spread across multiple repositories: analysts needed a flexible, adaptive system to harmonize diverse formats, define entities, identify relationships, visualize patterns, retain knowledge, and rapidly respond to requests from other agencies and Congress.

Forcepoint implemented the commercial SureView Analytics platform, customized and configured to harmonize dozens of data sources, model entities (people, addresses, emails, facilities, etc.), and automate deduplication and relationship discovery. The deployment created a single point of access that speeds understanding and analysis, standardized data collection schemas, improved analytic outputs and reporting, and now serves as a foundation for OSC cross‑mission products—reported as the first certified COTS solution in use.
