A Forcepoint Case Study
Air Force Central Command (AFCENT), which directs U.S. air operations in Southwest Asia, needed a modern combined air and space operations center (CAOC) to replace a six‑year temporary facility. The challenge was to deliver more robust, interoperable systems while optimizing physical space and power, and to make a seamless transition that would not interrupt 24x7 mission operations with a 99.99% availability requirement.
AFCENT deployed Forcepoint’s Trusted Thin Client alongside Citrix, NetApp and Avocent technologies, replacing roughly 95% of desktops with HP thin clients so users can view multiple classified networks from a single monitor. The 1,648‑seat rollout now supports six networks and 120+ C2 applications, reduced infrastructure power use by 22%, increased audio‑visual display capacity by 60%, simplified administration, boosted user productivity and improved coalition collaboration — establishing a model for future AOCs.
