A Forcepoint Case Study
A U.S.-based Fortune 500 renewable energy company with more than 15,000 employees and ~$15 billion in 2017 revenue faced high-stakes risks: compromised users who might divulge credentials or sensitive grid schematics, valuable customer and proprietary data stored in SharePoint, and the mental-health pressures of 24/7 energy trading that could lead to self-harm or workplace violence. The company needed full, real-time visibility into user intent and behavior across thousands of endpoints to protect its people, customers, and critical infrastructure.
The company deployed Forcepoint Insider Threat on 35,000 endpoints together with Forcepoint Behavioral Analytics to ingest about 9.5 million data points (SharePoint, firewall, proxy, AV, badge/access, etc.), create behavioral baselines, surface psychological indicators, and capture forensic video evidence. The integrated solution enabled prioritized, contextual alerts and reduced investigation time from roughly four days to about two hours, led to multiple cases referred for prosecution, and positioned the firm to expand into proactive data protection.
