A Forcepoint Case Study
RWTH Aachen University, Germany's top technical university, faced the challenge of securing its high-performance network which handles over 200 Gbps of data traffic. The university required a solution that ensured high availability, seamless connections to global research networks, and the ability to manage variable user permissions without compromising its innovative and collaborative culture. They turned to vendor Forcepoint and its Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) to meet these demanding security needs.
Forcepoint implemented its NGFW via eleven interlinked firewall clusters, which provided optimal protection and high availability through automatic load balancing. This solution allowed for maintenance without downtime and gave student programmers direct API access to fine-tune the system. The results included easy centralized management via the Security Management Center (SMC) and a valuable long-term partnership with Forcepoint on product development, ensuring the university's infrastructure can keep pace with future requirements.
