Reliance Capital, a major Indian financial services group serving millions of customers, faced the challenge of securing large volumes of confidential customer data across five operating businesses, multiple systems and geographies. With frequent data transfers to third parties and routine use of web and email, the company was exposed to accidental or intentional leaks and needed better control and compliance over data movement.

To address this, Reliance Capital launched a “Data Shield” program—covering data flow analysis, document rights management and a DLP rollout—and selected Forcepoint DLP for discovery, fingerprinting, monitoring and context-aware policy enforcement. The solution reduced the risk of confidential information being misused, ensured only authorized critical data leaves the organization, and protects data that may be unclassified or incorrectly classified by employees.
