A Forcepoint Case Study
Goethe University in Frankfurt, one of Germany’s largest and most influential research institutions serving about 48,000 students, needed to protect a distributed, mesh-style network that supports time-sensitive experiments and global collaboration. The university faced the twin challenges of securing vast amounts of personal and research data and keeping highly available, low-latency connectivity across decentralized sites to avoid disruptions that could delay critical research.
Forcepoint implemented its Next Generation Firewall with built-in SD-WAN, virtual contexts for site-specific policies, and centralized Security Management Center to deliver scalable, high-availability protection and single-pane management. The deployment provided consistent security across locations, reduced administration time, eliminated downtime for upgrades and policy changes, and strengthened protection of the university’s intellectual property while maintaining reliable connectivity for researchers.
