Middle East Retailer Finds a Next Generation Firewall That Can Handle its Hyper Growth

A fast-growing Middle Eastern retailer headquartered in the UAE — serving over a million shoppers daily — planned to expand to more than 400 outlets but found its existing firewall vendor unable to meet needs for secure, encrypted branch-to-datacenter and direct-to-cloud connectivity, high availability, and easy, cost-effective scaling. After promises from the prior supplier fell short, the company sought a new solution that could support rapid rollouts (22 new stores per year), protect SaaS traffic like Office 365, and reduce operational complexity.

Forcepoint NGFW was validated in a three-month proof-of-concept and then rolled out (initially ~200 appliances, with regular additions), delivering integrated NGFW and SD-WAN, zero-touch deployment, and centralized management. The deployment achieved high availability, let the retailer replace costly MPLS with broadband DSL to cut TCO, simplified large-scale management, and led to further adoption of Forcepoint Email Security to reduce spam and phishing — giving the retailer scalable, reliable security across its expanding network.
