A Forcepoint Case Study
Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, a major Bavarian university, needed to upgrade its outdated network infrastructure with a modern Next Generation Firewall (NGFW). The institution faced the challenge of replacing its old firewalls without causing network disruption, while also needing to significantly increase its capabilities for securing and supporting a growing number of remote users, a need accelerated by the pandemic.
Forcepoint implemented its NGFW solution with the assistance of system integrator Magellan. The transition was exceptionally smooth, requiring less than a minute of planned network downtime and only minor policy tweaks. The results for the university included increased network throughput, vastly improved VPN capacity for remote education, better attack prevention, and a reduced administrative workload. Forcepoint's straightforward licensing and supportive partnership were also highlighted as key benefits.
