Energy Services Company Securely Migrates 50 Terabytes of Data to the Cloud While Saving 90% with Forcepoint

A UAE-based energy services company that provides EPC(I) services to offshore/onshore oil & gas and renewable projects needed to migrate its entire Oracle environment — including 50 TB of critical data — to the Oracle Cloud. The move had to be done quickly and securely across many locations (including offshore rigs) while avoiding the high recurring cost of an MPLS lease line and replacing expensive, hard-to-manage firewall appliances.

Forcepoint delivered Next Generation Firewall with SD-WAN, replacing the proposed MPLS with five concurrent DSL links (about 10% of MPLS cost) and deploying NGFWs in the data center, cloud and branch sites with zero-touch provisioning. The company completed the 50 TB transfer on schedule and within budget (around 90% cost savings vs. the MPLS option), consolidated firewall management to a single pane, gained better throughput and visibility into bandwidth use, and began rolling Forcepoint appliances out to all locations for secure direct-to-cloud connectivity.
