A Forcepoint Case Study
EFAFLEX, a Germany-based manufacturer of high-speed industrial doors with 1,200 employees, needed to protect its proprietary design and engineering drawings from cyber threats and accidental leaks. As an internationally active mid-sized company, CAD files and development plans were attractive targets for hackers and industrial espionage, and simple mistakes like mistyped email addresses risked exposing confidential prototypes.
EFAFLEX implemented Forcepoint Web Security, Email Security and Data Loss Prevention as a unified content security solution: files were identified and classified, new authorization rules, storage guidelines and business processes were introduced, and Forcepoint now analyzes digital "fingerprints" of files before they are sent or copied externally. This approach enforces policy-based transfers—permitting only compliant actions—and has significantly reduced the risk of data loss while protecting confidential design and engineering data.
