Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is a 550‑bed NHS trust in southwest London serving hundreds of thousands of patients annually; its IT team of ~60 supports about 2,000 users. Although the hospital already used Forcepoint web and email security, a lost USB key that had to be reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office created board‑level urgency to tighten protection of 1.6 million patient records and prevent further data leakage.

The hospital implemented Forcepoint DLP in phases with partner Foursys, fingerprinting records, configuring medical‑aware templates to avoid false positives, and running awareness and training campaigns. The rollout was quick and low‑maintenance, cutting monthly investigable incidents from 6,000–10,000 to about 10–20 for the IG manager, improving visibility and patient data safety, and helping avoid potential regulatory fines.
