BAYERNOIL secures 10.3 million tons of crude oil operations with Forcepoint NGFW

Bayernoil, a Bavaria-based oil refinery designated as critical infrastructure by the German government, needed to upgrade its network security to comply with stringent national regulations (BSI KRITIS). The company also sought to support a migration to cloud applications and improve network segmentation. To address these challenges, Bayernoil partnered with vendor Forcepoint and its reseller Software Symbiose to implement the Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall (NGFW).

The solution involved deploying Forcepoint NGFW appliances to physically separate network segments, control user access, and provide granular visibility and reporting. This allowed Bayernoil to meet strict auditing requirements for the first time. The upgrade also improved network performance, enabling the successful adoption of cloud services like Microsoft Office 365. Forcepoint's technology provided the necessary security and reporting capabilities to achieve compliance while supporting the company's business objectives.
