A FORCAM Case Study
C.S.YAP, a Malaysian metal parts manufacturer established in 1976 with significant investment in machinery, faced challenges from made‑to‑order production: quality disparities, high inventory and cost, and frequent shop‑floor disruptions across heterogeneous machines. To address these issues C.S.YAP engaged FORCAM and adopted FORCAM’s Manufacturing Intelligence / FORCAM FORCE™ capabilities and Advanced Shop Floor Management technology to standardize product data and improve shop‑floor transparency.
FORCAM delivered a two‑phase solution: Phase 1 deployed PDM‑DNC across 23 lathes to centralize product data and reduce transfer risk, and Phase 2 implemented Machine Data Collection (MDC) with control‑via‑server, DCUs, real‑time web visualization and alerting. As a result FORCAM enabled real‑time production visibility, comparable KPIs (including OEE), runtime improvements and enhanced transparency—helping C.S.YAP minimize data‑transfer risk and achieve a 10% production efficiency improvement within six months.
