Using Data to Improve Agency Performance

Bowery Residents’ Committee (BRC), a New York-based housing and services provider, wanted a better way to understand how tenants were really doing and to measure program outcomes beyond diagnosis alone. Working with Foothold Technology and its AWARDS platform, BRC set out to evaluate client stability and improve service planning across its residential programs.

Foothold Technology helped BRC build the peer-reviewed MCAS-R evaluation tool into AWARDS so staff could complete assessments at intake, quarterly reviews, and discharge, with reporting that tracked stability score changes over time. The solution enabled deeper analysis, customized care levels, and targeted interventions, and the success of the project led BRC to expand the tool to additional residential program areas across the agency.
