The customer, UCL (University College London), faced challenges with an unintuitive employee platform that required workarounds and VPN access for simple tasks like booking leave. This led to frustration and errors. They partnered with vendor FoolProof to design and build a new, flexible progressive web app using the low-code platform OutSystems to transform this experience.

FoolProof conducted user research to define the new app's vision and created a component library for a design system. This approach enabled high reusability, speeding up design and development to rapidly bring the experience to life. The solution provided employees with an intuitive, clear platform for key tasks, significantly improving their daily experience. The project won a BIMA award and established a foundation for UCL's future applications.
